MASSAGE PARLOR or INDEPENDENT SERVICE PROVIDER, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
A massage parlor is a commercial premises with a storefront (window), with staff able to welcome customers with or without an appointment.
An independent generally receives you at their home and/or travels to the hotel or home of their customers. Making an appointment is therefore essential for logistics.
EQUIPMENT
A massage parlor or SPA is logically equipped with professional equipment (massage table, futon, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna, etc.) to offer several types of services.
An independent rarely has the equipment of a salon/SPA. The number of services will then be more limited. This does not affect the quality of the services that do not necessarily require the facilities of a salon/SPA.
QUALITY OF SERVICE
The quality of service or reception, punctuality and all the services vary from one establishment to another, and from one independent service provider to another.
It is not possible to make a generality.
Nevertheless, an independent will be able to create a more personalized and intimate service with his clientele because the appointment is exclusive and private.
TRAINING FOR THE PRACTICE OF MASSAGES
Therapeutic massages provided in a medical setting require an accreditation diploma (physiotherapist, osteopath, etc.)
Conversely, relaxing massages performed in a but relaxing SPA, massage salon, independent masseur, training can be random because it does not require any diploma. The quality of the practitioner therefore lies in his/her own requirement in terms of quality of service, whether he/she is a salon employee or independent.
DIFFERENCE IN PRICES
A SPA or massage parlor generally has employees, therefore higher costs than an independent. The prices can therefore be higher.
SECURITY
A salon can give a more reassuring feeling by the presence of more staff.
An independent brings the assurance of a more confidential appointment.
LEGISLATION / NAUGHTY MASSAGE (NATURIST, SENSUAL, EROTIC, TANTRIC, ETC.)
In Spain, the Netherlands or in certain American countries, the practice of “naughty” massages is free.
In France, this profession is supervised and very closely monitored.
A massage parlor employing staff for erotic massages can run risks and expose itself to heavy legal sanctions.
A self-employed person will be freer to practice this profession.
